Terms of Service

The Slate Cinema platform — operated by Slate Cinema Inc · Last updated 18 August 2026

These terms govern use of Slate Cinema ("the Tool"), the social media scheduling and publishing platform operated by Slate Cinema Inc ("Slate Cinema", "we", "us") to deliver our social media management service. The Tool is used by Slate Cinema staff and by the client businesses who connect the social media accounts they own to us under a written service agreement. There is no consumer sign-up.

What the Tool does

The Tool lets a client's content be planned on a shared calendar, routed through an approval step, and published to the accounts that client has connected on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and X. It also retrieves performance statistics for the content it published and reports them back to the account owner.

Account ownership and authorization

Connected accounts belong to the businesses that own them. Slate Cinema publishes only to an account whose owner has explicitly connected it through the destination platform's own official authorization flow — for Facebook and Instagram, by granting Slate Cinema partner access to assets held in the client's own Meta business portfolio. Connecting an account confirms that you own it or are authorized to act for its owner.

Authorization can be withdrawn at any time, from your own platform settings or by asking us. Withdrawal takes effect immediately and we stop publishing to that account.

Approval and responsibility for content

No content is published without an approval recorded against a named person. The account owner is responsible for the accuracy and legality of content they supply or approve, and for any rights, licences and permissions needed for the media, music, footage and people appearing in it. We are responsible for publishing what was approved, to the account it was approved for, at the time it was scheduled.

Acceptable use

The Tool may not be used to publish content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, harassing, or that violates the rules of the destination platform. We may refuse or remove content that in our judgment breaches these terms or a platform's policies.

Platform rules

Publishing through the Tool is also subject to the terms of each destination platform, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and X, and to the developer terms listed in our Privacy Policy. Platform features, limits and availability are controlled by those platforms and may change without notice. We are not responsible for platform outages, rejections, rate limits, or changes to their APIs.

Service availability

We aim to publish scheduled content on time but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled posts may be delayed or fail because of platform errors, media processing problems, or connectivity issues. Where a post fails we record the error and notify the operator so it can be retried.

Data

Our handling of content, tokens and statistics is described in our Privacy Policy. Instructions for deleting the data held for an account are at docs.slatecinema.com/data-deletion.

Termination

Either party may end use of the Tool at any time. On termination we stop publishing, and stored content, tokens and records are deleted on request as described in the Privacy Policy.

Liability

The Tool is provided on an "as is" basis to the extent permitted by law. Our liability arising from use of the Tool is limited to the fees paid for the affected service in the three months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above will change and connected account owners will be notified by email of material changes.
