Slate Cinema Inc ("Slate Cinema", "we", "us") is a video production and social media agency. Slate Cinema ("the Tool") is the platform we use to deliver our social media management service: client businesses that hire us to run their social media connect the accounts they own to the Tool, and we plan, produce, schedule and publish content to those accounts on their instruction and with their approval. We also use the Tool for Slate Cinema's own brand accounts.
This policy explains what the Tool collects, why, and how it is protected.
The people who sign in to the Tool are Slate Cinema staff and the authorized representatives of client businesses, who review and approve their own content. There is no consumer sign-up: an account reaches the Tool only when its owner connects it, under a written service agreement with Slate Cinema.
Every connected account remains the property of the business that owns it. That business grants access through the social platform's own official authorization flow, decides what we may do with it, and can withdraw that access at any time — see Retention, revocation and deletion.
We do not collect data about the followers or viewers of connected accounts beyond the aggregate statistics the platforms provide. We do not buy, sell or rent personal information, and we do not combine one client's data with another's.
Solely to operate the service the account owner hired us for: to publish content they have approved to the accounts that authorized us, to show scheduling and performance information back to that account owner and to the Slate Cinema staff assigned to their account, and to keep a record of who approved what. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling or model training, and we do not share it with third parties other than the platform the content is being published to.
Access tokens and platform data are used only to perform the actions the account owner authorized, and only on the accounts they connected. We follow the developer terms and policies of every platform we integrate with, including the Meta Platform Terms and Meta Developer Policies — which govern the Facebook and Instagram data we obtain from Meta Platforms, Inc. — the Instagram Platform Policy, the TikTok Developer Terms of Service, the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and the X Developer Agreement and Policy.
Use of YouTube API Services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Access granted to the Tool can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Data is stored in a private database hosted by Supabase (United States region). Access tokens are held in an encrypted secrets vault, never in application code or ordinary database tables. Access is restricted to authorized Slate Cinema personnel and to the service processes that publish content. All transmission is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
Content and publishing records are retained while the account relationship is active, and for up to 24 months afterwards for accounting and portfolio purposes.
An account owner may revoke our access at any time — from their own settings on the platform (for example by removing Slate Cinema as a partner in their Meta business portfolio, or by revoking the app under their account's connected-apps settings), or by asking us to disconnect. Revocation takes effect immediately, and the Tool can no longer publish to or read that account.
On request we delete the stored content, tokens and records for that account within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records by law. Step-by-step instructions are at docs.slatecinema.com/data-deletion.
Account owners may ask what we hold about their account, request a copy, request correction, or request deletion. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
The Tool is used only by businesses and their representatives and is not directed to anyone under 18.
If this policy changes materially we will update this page, change the date above, and notify connected account owners by email.
